To all talk radio listeners....
Would you find it interesting to hear clips from your favorite sit-coms on radio? Let's say it is an ET type show with two hosts and they intro TV clips. How fast would you reach for the dial? Or would you enjoy it?

to be honest:

not sure. while i don't want to sound like the "flopping fish," i am truly unsure how i would react. on one hand, if it is a show i am not familiar with in the least (Everybody Loves Raymond, King Of Queens, Will and Grace, etc.) i would probably be interested to see if i found the clips funny enough to want to check out the show...

... however, if i am familiar with the show, i could visualize the characters and perhaps chuckle along with the bit.

that being said, since "That 70s Show" has gone into syndication, I am constantly hearing "Tonight On UPN" spots that preview the upcoming night's episode(s) and they do the soundbyte thing, and I am NEVER moved to thinking I need to watch the show(s)...

so... my $.02... your mileage...

Re: to be honest:

It's been an interesting experiment. I tried last night to "watch" Life With Bonnie with my eyes closed. It doesn't work. I don't think TV on radio is all that interesting but am doing this demo because it may lead to something else that is better and bigger. For me, talk radio depends on the hosts, not the bits or guests or any other factor. It is the relationship that is created between the listener and the host.

But your point is well taken that maybe, just maybe, you might be find a familiar clip funny and want to hear it again, or you might be inspired to watch a show (like Raymond) based on a funny bite you heard. Hmmmm. I have to over-think this some more. That's why I threw it out to the group to gauge reaction. Thanks for yours.
