An odd party

Last night, I had a business meeting at my house. It was like having a really weird party with a bunch of great friends and a lawyer talking to us. Then eveyone left. Not sure if this is going to move along the bankruptcy settlement but any action will be good. Worked some more after everyone left then watched TV. Stern was really good last night as he made High Pitch Eric shave the pubes from Joey Boots (who's really cute) and then glue them to Joey's face. Johnny Knoxville was the guest. What could be better TV?

As I tried to drift off, these lyrics kept running through my mind. They are from a Springsteen song (an under-appreciated one at that) and I also wrote them on a Valentine card a few years ago to Billy.

"So you been broken and you been hurt
Show me somebody who ain't
Yeah I know I ain't nobody's bargain
But hell with a touch-up
And a little paint...

You might need somethin' to hold onto
When all the answers they don't amount to much
Somebody that you can just talk to
And a little of that human touch.

Baby in a world without pity
Do you think what I'm askin's too much?
I just want to feel you in my arms
And share a little of that human touch."

Broooooooooce!

Off to the shower...

Then I'm going to therapy. After that, I am meeting Chris for dinner. Chris was a friend of Billy's and has become a friend of mine in the last nine months. It's really an unlikely friendship although we are bonded by our love of Bill.

Back story: In 1997, Billy and I separated for about eight months. He moved out of the house and went to live with my friend, Scott (which further complicated things). During that time, I started to date a redheaded 30 year old from Germany named Michael that I met through Russell, my ex. Billy started dating Chris, a forty-something smart-ass (the parallel was not lost on me). Long story short, Billy and I reconciled and went into couples counseling. It worked.

So it is odd and somehow comforting to befriend Chris now. I see why Billy liked him so much.
