The weekend...so far
Saturday was great. A buddy came up and hung out then we met up with Tommy, had lunch then saw Femme Fatale. The movie was really cool. Check it out. Then we dropped Tommy off at home, came back here and talked for a few hours. The conversation was easy, fun and interesting. This guy is really smart and kind and someday will make someone a great husband : )

Today was up early and Debbie and Nadine, my friends from group, came over to plow through the garage. I found a few things that I had been looking for that mean a great deal to me. It was difficult because there were so many unfinished projects of Billy's in the garage and I don't know what he intended for some of them and I had to make decisions whether to keep everything or throw some stuff out. I figured if it had his handwriting, painting or anything else that personalized it to him, it was a keeper. Otherwise, it is in the garbage. The primary mission was to be able to fit my car into the garage. Mission accomplished.

Tonight is a benefit show at the Wiltern with Mr. Show, Janeane Garafalo, Robert Smigel and the Kids in the Hall. I'm going to see Marc and Jeff there, I know, and may see some other friends. It will be good to get out of the house.

One of the things I found was the wrapping from a gift I gave Billy from our third anniversary. I gave him, at that time, my most prized possesion - a black leather biker jacket that I had for years. I had worn it around the world and has a rightous patch on the sleeve I got in Berlin. It says "Drive Fast Die Free" in German. I wrapped it in plain brown wrapping paper and with red crayon, I wrote in big letters:

Billy, let me in, I want to be your friend
I want to guard your dreams and visions
Just wrap your legs round these velvet rims
And strap your hands across my engines
Togetther we can break this trap
We'll run til we drop
Billy we'll never go back
Will you walk with me out on the wire
Cause Billy I'm just a scared and lonely rider
But I gotta know how it feels
I want to know if your love is wild
Bill I want to know if your love is real.

He opened the gift, knew how much it meant to me and started to cry. He cut out the verse ( a verse from the most romantic song ever written) and kept it. I'm really glad I found it becuase I know how much it meant to him and I certainly know how much it means to me. I know this all might sound corny but we were hopeless romantics. *sigh and smile*
