Because explosivo did it... - Sing With Me If It's Just For Today... — LiveJournal
If I should fall behind, Guyster, wait for me.
Because explosivo did it...
And also I haven't had the focus or gumption to write something original lately.

I want everyone who reads this to ask me three questions. Ask me anything you want. Then I want you to go to your journal, copy and paste this allowing your friends (including myself) to ask you anything.

(1) why have you been lyin' so low on LJ lately?

(2) what's been the absolute best thing about moving to Washington DC?

(3) what famous/historical person/celebrity would you most want to be trapped in an elevator with for two hours? (if you could pick)

1. My workload has been increased ten fold in the past few months so I have no time to write at the office. By the time I get home and feed and walk Bob, it's 9:00 or 9:30 and my creative well is empty. I hope that will change once I start the writers workshop on Tuesday night.

2. Meeting a great friend, Joe. He's been able to show me details to the city I would have never found and he's given me the comfort of having warmth and compassion, locally.

3. Bruce Springsteen. No doubt. It would take about ten minutes to get the giggly schoolgirl out of me and then I'd love to engage him in a variety of subjects that had nothing to do with his music and how it changed my life.

Thanks, Dave!

1. How can you mend a broken heart?

2. What's love got to do with it?

3. Who do you think you are?

(special thanks to The Bee Gees, Tina Turner and Bo Donaldson/The Heywoods for providing these questions.)

1. I don't know if you can. Sometimes that damned old heart is just broken into too many pieces.

2. Everything. Love for a dog or a job or a friend can make this hard life bearable.

3. Just a guy who's trying his best to make it through the random cruelty of life. I'm a guy who wants to make a difference, whether it's to a stray dog or something on a more grand scale. I'm someone who tries to do the right thing, whatever the fuck that is, but sometimes falls woefully short.

Thanks Gibbs, Tina, Bo, and Marc.

1) Which tattoo is your favorite, or does it change with the emotional tide?

2) Do you still sleep on a side of the bed or all over?

3) As a TV fan, do you have an "all time favorite" or a show that simply drew you towards the medium?
guysterrules From: guysterrules Date: April 17th, 2004 02:28 pm (UTC) (Link)
1. My favorite tattoo is the one in my user pic, LEDBETTER across my back. I've never been more proud to wear that name, literally, and my only regret is that I didn't have it done in time. The heart over my heart was done two days before the funeral in a moment when sanity was a distant memory. I love my newest one, it's message meaning everything in the world to me but it's the name, now my name, that I love wearing the most.

2. I sleep on Billy's side with Bob on my former side so I can spoon with him and watch TV at the same time. I started this in Los Angeles and it was surprisingly uncomfortable for a while. I was in someone else's place and he'd be the first one to tell me that.

3. Being an only child with my own TV drew me to the medium. As far as an all time favorite, that would be even more difficult to narrow down than my all time favorite song, or film. However, I can name ten shows that have had great influence on me: Nightline, Cheers, Melrose Place, The Mary Tyler Moore Show, Kids In The Hall, Survivor, SCTV, Hawaii 5-0, That Girl, and most recently, Joan Of Arcadia.

I completely understand the no-time-to-post thing. I'm having a bit of that myself.

1. Have you begun to like the East Coast at all?

2. Has anybody ever given you flowers?

3. Do you like marzipan? Specifically...the little vegetable shapes sold at the bakery at Watergate?
guysterrules From: guysterrules Date: April 17th, 2004 02:33 pm (UTC) (Link)
1. I've always loved the East Coast although now that it's going to be getting hot and muggy, my love will seasonally diminish.

2. Yes. Billy was a big flower-giver and most times, for no reason at all other than he thought they'd make me happy. He was right.

3. Actually, marzipan is one of my least favorite tastes, right up there with curry and coffee on my make-a-funny-face-and-say-eeeww list.

1. do you have a middle name?

2. what is your take on Madonna?

3. Annie Lennox, depressing or soulful?

guysterrules From: guysterrules Date: April 17th, 2004 06:04 pm (UTC) (Link)
1. Derik. I have no idea why my parents gave it to me as it has no family history. I never use it.

2. I love Madonna but I had a learning curve on her. When she arrived, she was competing with Cyndi Lauper in the marketplace. I thought Cyndi danced talent circles around her and I thought Cyndi would win the match. I was so wrong. I didn't start loving Madonna until Live To Tell and once I did, my love for her only grew, even after meeting her. I met her the night she met Sandra Bernhard and we all went out for drinks, a night later recounted on Letterman by the two of them. Then I married a true blue Madonnaite and she became my soundtrack for over nine years. One of our last really big things we did together, Billy and I saw Madonna in concert. I treasure that night.

3. Annie is joyously depressing and soulful and challenging and humane. I love Annie.

good answers all, I was wondering about Madonna, I mean when it comes to raw talent you are so on with Cyndi over Madonna, but when it comes to Mad Marketing Mogul Genius, well Madonna takes that hands down. She is so all over the place.

Answer three was the best tho. Perfectly put.

She's all over, alright.
